The Air Jordan XX9 will launch in September in two separate versions and will be chock full of performance technologies like an evolved Flight Plate system, the new Flight Web, and the first ever performance-woven upper. The sneakers are designed by Jordan Brand legend Tinker Hatfield, and have apparently been in the works for two years now. Thankfully, the Air Jordan IV “Black Cat” retro will return again during the first quarter of next year. Last seen in 2006, the “Black Cat” colorway is arguably one of the most underrated Jordans of all time. Scheduled to release sometime around January 2014, be sure to keep an eye out for more details regarding the retro release.
Jeff Staple has compiled a great list for Complex, entitled ‘The 50 Most Influential People In Sneaker History’. You will see lots of familiar faces on the list, ranging from NIGO, to Kanye West, Tinker Hatfield to Michael Jordan. As usual such a list will for sure start a lot of discussions, yet for the most part we have to agree with Mr. Staple – he got it pretty much right.
When first released back in 2007, the Air Jordan III “Do The Right Thing” was inspired by Spike Lee‘s film of the same name debuting in a brisk blue, pro gold and radiant green colorway. This new Air Jordan Son of Mars Low “Do The Right Thing” edition features a game royal base, cement grey outsole and pimento, pine green and tour yellow accents throughout. Adding some texture to the sneaker is the return of the classic elephant print, along with blue speckles on the tour yellow midsole. The Air Jordan Son of Mars Low “Do The Right Thing” will be released on June 29.
Air Jordan IV ‘Doernbecher’ designed by Isaiah Scott, who has a love for the Man of Steel. Colorway is stated as Black/Old Royal-Electric, Green-White, and it includes an image of Isaiah and the Superman logo on the tongue. For those who don’t know (probably 98% of you) The ‘Doernbecher’ Jordans are designed by kids and proceeds go to The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation. This one might be my favorite yet, someone hire that kid!
I got the Retro III today! In my opinion, it is easily one of the best Air Jordans of all time. These were the same kicks His Airness had on his feet when he dunked from the foul line back in 88’. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, it was the first shoe to use the now iconic Jumpman logo, and the first to feature the visible Air bubble.
